Yesterday a team of our Y8 students attended the Salters Festival of Chemistry at UCL. This is a practical chemistry competition open to Y7 and 8 students across the country. There were 26 schools present at UCL, including some of the top grammar and public schools in London. Our students gave a superb account of themselves both in terms of their attitude and behaviour, and their work during the competition. They were highly praised for their teamwork within their group, their problem solving skills and on the quality of their experiment write up.
They ended up coming 2nd out of 26 schools, a superb achievement given that this was their first experience of working completely independently in a proper lab.
Well done to Shirin, Kai, Fynn, and Linus, and Ms Stewart and Mr Pidgeon.
